726 Day

Date: July 26, 2024

Time: 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Location: North side of the Courthouse near Smith Street Park

What's going on

Main Street Albany is preparing for an old-school event on Friday, July 26 (7/26) from 5:30-8:30 pm to celebrate the community. "726 Day is a throwback to the days when all Albany telephone landlines had 726 as the prefix. We hope to bring a little old-fashioned fun back to the square," says Tonya McCampbell, Main Street Albany promotions chair.

The family-friendly event will take place at Smith Street Park and feature activities like a pet pageant and parade, greased watermelon relay, watermelon eating contest, hula hoop contest, and more. DJ Slide-N-Sidewaze will be providing music, and food options will be available.

Pet Pageant Information: This is meant to be a fun show! Costumes and special talents are encouraged. Owners will be asked to fill out a short form to reflect their pet's personality. Pets must be well-behaved and kept on a leash or in a carrier at all times. Owners must clean up after pets. Dogs must have a current rabies vaccination/rabies tag. Organizers have the right to refuse any animal or handler entry to the show.
